This is a Rapid Fire Hunter's Star quilt of your choice. The techniques will be taught and you can make the "Hot Flash", "Sue Nami" or "Crowning Around" pattern. The "Crowning Around" quilt is featured.

Come learn a new technique with a special surprise! The word serendipity means "a fortunate happenstance or pleasant surprise". That is what happens with this quilt, the "waste" becomes the second quilt.

A beautiful border can add so much to your quilt. Sometimes a simple frame is appropriate, but more often a stunning border can enhance, balance and add interest to the piece. There are literally hundreds of border options both pieced and appliqued. In this 5 week session you will learn how to make several new borders making a 36 inch wide strip of each. These can then be pieced together to make a lap quilt as shown in the class sample, or they can be modified to fit your own projects.

058: Bella Bella Medallion

Bring a piece of Italy into your home by recreating an inlaid marble mosaic tile floor in fabric. Construct this stunning circular, design based on a floor pattern from the Basilica of St. Marks in Venice, using very basic paper piecing techniques. The wedge foundation makes this seemingly complex design easy to assemble. The WOW factor of this quilt comes from the number of pieces and their interplay rather than the difficulty of piecing.

Be sure to add this class to your monthly calendar! Every third Saturday of each month is a new idea for learning your software. This is a free class with an optional CD that includes instructions and videos for $7. Please call ahead for a seat and CD.

103: Beginning Quilting

This is truly a class that teaches you from the very beginning of quilt making. From what fabric choices to make in color theory, proper cutting using the rotary cutter and ruler, quilt piecing and why you want an exact quarter inch seam, sandwiching your quilt, quilting, square up and finally adding the binding with the invisible joint at the the end! Whew! You will have a completed quilt. For those of you who are self taught and wondering why your quilts do not turn out the way you wanted, this class is for you!

This class was developed for those who have taken Jean's Beginning Quilt Class or for those who are ready to expand their knowledge of the different blocks. You will be exposed to working with the bias (flying geese), log cabins, friendship star, 9 patch, rail fence and nine patch variation. 4 part class.

You will be all smiles when you make a fun Gordian Knot by simply using "happy" fabrics, It doesn't HAVE to be novelty fabrics---try a wild and crazy geometric or floral.
