Quilts Across America

Join us to help make quilts to accompany beds made by Sleep in Heavenly Peace (Off the floor, into a bed and under a quilt). If you are not familiar with Sleep in Heavenly Peace it is an organization that builds beds for kids that don’t have a bed to sleep in. They provide the bed and bedding and Quilts Across America provides a quilt.

We will be meeting on the first Tuesday of every month at 10:30 AM. There is no charge for this event. Bernina Connection has graciously donated the space for us to work in.

This first event will be mainly about organizing. Bring your sewing machine and supplies if you’d like to do some sewing. We will need folks to cut and iron as well. So bring a mat and rotary cutter. Stripology rulers would be great for cutting. We will be making Hocus Pocus the free pattern from Studio180 Designs. There will be fabric on hand and copies of the pattern.

If you can’t make it and would like to donate supplies, here is the list: -Cotton fabric. We need fabric no smaller than 9” square or any yardage to cut to that size. No holiday or religious fabric. -Light cotton batting. Remnants are OK. We will make Franken-batting. But please pieces no smaller than 8” strips.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace has a shortage of quilts for boys. So any fabric that would be appropriate would be appreciated.
